I was tired of lugging around an Acoustic Amp to gigs, only to take a line out from there to the board. I also wanted to have a simple and small unit "in the case" so that if I was out and about with my Guitar and the opportunity came along to play, I would have the option of "pluggin in" and still have a level of control over my tone.
Drive control, footswitchable bypass, and SansAmp circuitry provide tone shaping for any signal source. The Tech 21 SansAmp Para Driver DI Instrument Preamp Pedal adds natural warmth and presence to acoustic and electric guitars and electric and upright basses, either direct to a mixer or with an instrument amplifier.
From the Manufacturer:
This floor version of our RPM rackmount provides the same detailed tone shaping possibilities for any signal source. It is particularly useful with acoustic, electric and bass guitars, and upright bass, either direct to a mixing console or with an instrument amplifier. The Para Driver DI gives your instrument a natural warmth and presence, as if miking it through a tube pre-amp. The SansAmp circuitry eliminates the harsh, unnatural harmonics of piezo pickups, while the Drive control offers some tasteful edge -- just a little or over-the-top.
